The TransformTO Report #2: Climate Action for a Healthy Equitable and Prosperous Toronto, was unanimously adopted at the Parks and Environment Committee on May 4th. Fantastic news!
This short video by Nadine MacKinnon highlights the deputation by grade 3 students from Thorncliffe Park Public School, and also includes footage from the April 29th Climate march.
Now the Report goes to City Council on May 24th recommended for adoption. This report has the subtitle: Pathway to a Low Carbon Toronto. The report details the actions required to meet the 80% GHG emission reduction target by 2050. We will be presenting our petition in support of climate action to City Council on May 24th.

Note: We are hoping for unanimous support for the TransformTO 2050 climate action plan on May 24th. This motion does not have any costs associated with it. During the summer and fall we will need to advocate for funding in the next budget. Once the report is adopted then we will be developing strategies for this. For now our focus is on getting the climate plan approved.
