Thank you for signing our petitions or sign up list.  If we are going to succeed in getting a strong climate action plan for the city of Toronto, and if we are going to get it funded in 2018 we will need to build momentum by building public awareness of the importance of this plan, and we will need to lobby our councilors to fund it.

THE MARCH HAS A NEED FOR PEACEKEEPERS if you can arrive at 10:30 am for training.

MONDAY MAY 1ST – 7 PM – TRAINING IN DEPUTATIONS, WRITING LETTERS AND MEETING WITH YOUR COUNCILLOR

The TRANSFORMTO 2050 plan is being released today, April 27th.
You can learn about it in 3 ways:

  1. Attend a webinar on line: http://bit.ly/1NBsOo6  (Thursday 6:30 – 8 pm, or Tuesday 12 – 1:30 pm)
  2. Watch at home using a link – we will put that link up on our website on Friday, so you can watch over the weekend. (www.climatefast.ca/carbonfreeTO).  We will also give an overview of key points at our training night May 1st.
  3. THURSDAY MAY 4TH IS WHEN YOU CAN DEPUTE TO THE CITY PARKS AND ENVIRONMENT COMMITTEE.  Write to pec@toronto.ca to get on the speakers list.
There will be an opportunity to speak for up to 5 minutes in a committee room at City Hall during the morning meeting when Parks and Environment receives the report.  Alternatively you can submit a written deputation, which is basically just a letter, long or short, focusing on key points you want to raise.  You can present as an individual or on behalf of a group. The written and oral presentations will become part of the City’s record.
