This is for people new to the project and for those who may have taken the training on June 22nd and want a review of the model and a run through of the resources on the website. We want this campaign to grow this summer and fall so that conversations are happening in all the ridings in Ontario!Let’s make sure the climate is the talk of this election.

MUNICIPAL CLIMATE ACTION – TRANSFORMTO!! – SESSION IN SCARBOROUGH AUGUST 8TH

The City is currently developing the TransformTO Implementation Plan to 2023. It will be considered by City Council in early 2020. The Implementation Plan will outline actions to be taken over the short-term to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and integrate climate resilience while maximizing benefits to the community. This plan will be an update to the 2017-2020 Short-Term Strategies .

The City will be hosting an initial public meeting on August 8 to provide City staff and panelists on the TransformTO Reference Panel on Climate Action an opportunity to hear input from other residents. All members of the public are invited to attend:

Community Forum: A Green New Deal for Ontario

She'll be joined by special guests, including MPP Ian Arthur, Critic for Environment and Sustainability; Maya Menezes, from The Leap; Amara Possian from 350.org; and Christina Hoicka, from York University’s Faculty of Environmental Studies. Get involved! FEDERAL ELECTION ALL-PARTY DEBATES - OCTOBER 7

GreenPAC, a non-partisan organization that seeks to promote and recognize environmental leadership in all the parties, has a brilliant idea for drawing attention to environmental issues during the federal election campaign. They plan to hold 100 debates running in 100 ridings simultaneously across the country on October 7.   Specific ridings where support is needed in Toronto: Don Valley East, Don Valley North, Etobicoke-Lakeshore, Etobicoke North, Scarborough-Agincourt, Scarborough Centre, Scarborough North, Scarborough-Rouge Park and Scarborough Southwest.  GreenPAC would like to hear from you if you would like to help.100debates@greenpac.ca
