Save Cap and Trade

The province has introduced Bill 4 to cancel the Cap and Trade Program. The Bill does not say what it will be replaced with nor what emission targets the province will implement.  To date the province has made no announcement on how it intends to combat climate change.

The selling of emission credits from Cap and Trade raised $2.4 billion; some of which was set aside to fund TransformTO. Without this funding TransformTO is in danger of being pared down or even cut.

ClimateFast opposes this bill. We have sent a letter to Minister of Environment Conservation and Parks, Rod Phillips.  Please see letter.   We also have a petition you can sign.
