ACTION ALERT - TELL THE FEDS WE NEED A STRONG EMISSIONS CAP - 5 MINUTE ACTION BY FEB 5
INFO & ACTION LINKS TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

VERY IMPORTANT EMISSIONS CAP INPUT NEEDED - BY MONDAY FEB 5TH (11:59pm)

There are only a few days left to take part in the public consultation on the oil and gas emissions cap, which closes on Monday, February 5 - and we need all hands on deck!

You can bet the fossil fuel lobby is hard at work to derail a meaningful cap - and our voices must be raised!   A robust cap represents the best current chance of reducing emissions from the oil and gas sector in Canada.

Participating in the consultation is simple (and only takes 2 seconds): it's as easy as using one of the template emails developed by our friends

  • Tell the feds oil and gas companies should not be allowed to pay to pollute more than the cap

THANK YOU EVERYONE WHO DEPUTED ON THE CITY BUDGET!  We made the list of top 5 concerns in this Toronto Star article.

Five things Toronto residents said they want from the 2024 city budget

However we are NOT investing to the level that is needed to implement the TransformTO Net Zero by 2040 target.  Toronto Star's David Rider wrote this article,

Toronto is losing its fight against climate change amid budget squeeze

The Mayor's budget added funding for the Scarborough busway, that is a win, but we have some specific asks and we will be back in touch this week with suggested asks for your councillors to add needed funding.  The budget will be adopted on Valentine's Day, 2014. There will be $8M up for discussion and decision that day.  Any changes to the Mayor's version of the budget will be made then.

Thank you for raising your voice in all the ways you have - by attending town halls, sending letters or giving deputations.  We are making a difference.
