THREE EVENTS NOT TO BE MISSED!

IESO'S REPORT IS COMING!

When: Wed Oct 22; 7-8 pm

Where: on Zoom

Who: David Robertson (Seniors for Climate Action)

What else: The Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO) is releasing a report  to the Ford government on October 31 re: the future of electricity in the Toronto region. IESO did public consultations and heard requests for more renewables, but we know their focus will be on the more expensive and environmentally damaging gas and nuclear sources. What can we do now?

Email newsletter@climatefast.ca for the Zoom link to attend. If you've already asked for the link, it will be shared the day of the event.

TORONTO: RENEWABLES OR NUCLEAR/GAS?

When: Tues Oct 28; 12 noon – 1 pm

Where: Toronto City Hall, Nathan Phillips Square (Queen and Bay)

Who: Ontario Clean Air Alliance and more

What else: Join Toronto enviros for an interactive street theatre event highlighting the need for renewables and conservation – not Doug Ford's nuclear and gas plan. Join us for some fun! We’ll be producing short streeter videos. The province is producing an electricity plan for the city of Toronto – but they’re proposing nuclear and gas. Join us to say hell no – we want a renewable future! Find out more here:

BUILDING ENERGY RETROFITS

When: Wed Nov 5; 7-8 pm

Where: on Zoom

Who: various groups TBC

What else: City of Toronto offers funding for building retrofits but it's not being taken up. At the same time, there are many un- and under-employed Torontonians who could be trained to do retrofitting. What can we do to encourage this activity - and before the next budget comes around?

Email newsletter@climatefast.ca for the Zoom link to attend. If you've already asked for the link, it will be shared the day of the event.
