ClimateFast members join the Toronto Environmental Alliance (TEA) in a day of action on climate to mobilize voters. ClimateFast announces the results of the Mayoral Climate Commitment campaign, urging Toronto voters to vote for climate candidates. This mayoral commitment campaign was endorsed by the Toronto Climate Action Network, and 20 member climate organizations.

Six Mayoral candidates have signed the Climate Pledge, including two leading candidates, Josh Matlow and Olivia Chow. The Pledge includes a commitment to fully fund the TransformTO Net Zero by 2040 strategy, and a commitment to implement an effective plan for climate adaptation.

“Smoke is in our skies and in our lungs. We are in the midst of a climate crisis, and cities have a crucial role to play in addressing that crisis.” Said Anne Keary, Chair of TCAN’s mayoral campaign.

“Toronto has an excellent climate plan, TransformTO, with the goal of Net Zero by 2040.” Said Lyn Adamson, Co-Chair of ClimateFast.  We need to elect a mayor who is committed to moving us forward and making Toronto a global leader in climate mitigation and adaptation.”

ClimateFast spokesperson Lyn Adamson will be present at St. Clair West station from 7 – 8:30 am and Anne Keary.at Dufferin station from 4:30 – 6 pm
