CLIMATE ACTION IN CITY BUDGET - SIGN PETITION NOW
Call your councillor! Invitation to open meeting Feb 6th
Dear supporters of climate action:
The Toronto 2017 budget will be decided on Feb 15 th by City Council. We are getting in touch with you because you attended films shown by ClimateFast or have signed a petition to Mayor Tory for Climate Action – and we are inviting you to take another step to help get climate action undertaken in a serious way in this City.
IF YOU HAVE JUST ONE MINUTE – then please SIGN our petition:
https://www.change.org/p/
We’ll deliver this to the Mayor and all the councillors before the budget vote. Let’s get as many signatures as possible by Feb 7 th when Executive Committee meets and reviews the budget. Please share on any e-lists or facebook pages where this would be relevant; we’d love to reach out widely across the city and beyond for support!
You may also wish to sign TEA’s (Toronto Environmental Alliance) petition which includes concerns about other cuts, as well as supporting the Transform TO budget request:

IF YOU HAVE TWENTY MINUTES – then call or write your own councillor. Take a look at our webpage for the CarbonFreeTO campaign,
www.climatefast.ca/carbonfreeT
IF YOU HAVE AN HOUR – then consider being part of a group to meet with your councillor on your climate action concerns.
ClimateFast CarbonFreeTO campaign is encouraging local groups to meet if possible with their councillors before the budget meeting. This is to encourage support for funding a $1.6 million investment in the Transform TO climate action plan.
If you are willing to meet with your councillor please confirm by replying to carbonfreeto@climatefast.ca . We have an outline of the points to raise and questions to ask at the meeting and we’ll make a plan for the meeting once we get confirmation from the councillor.
To learn more and get more involved in the campaign you are also invited to our next open meeting: Monday February 6 th , 7 pm, 60 Lowther Ave. Toronto (near St. George & Bloor).
