ClimateFast 2013

On Sunday the ClimateFasters were on the Hill from 3:30 pm to 6 pm after attending the Rally for the Rideau River. The Rally started at Vincent Massey Park and a large group walked along the Rideau River to City Hall. It took us three hours so by the time we arrived at City Hall we were pretty tired. But our spirits were restored by the energy at the rally against the Energy East Pipeline. Clayton Thomas-Mueller assisted by Ben Powless of Ecology Ottawa (the organizers of the walk and the rally) introduced the speakers and entertainers. After the rally ended at 3:30 the ClimateFasters headed back to Parliament Hill with banners and fliers. As usual we met the usual mix of those who think that climate change is a hoax, those who are not interested and fortunately some who want to seriously discuss the issues.

Upcoming Events

On the remaining three days of the fast the ClimateFasters will be on the Hill at the regular time of 9 am to 6 pm.

Monday, Sept 30 - 7:00pm The Economics of Happiness screening at 400 McArthur (on #14 bus) Ottawa

Shows a grassroots movement for localization that is bubbling up from the cracks of a faltering global economy. A better world is within our reach.

We hold the future of all living beings in our hands. We must act now. We must get our politicians to grow some backbone. We must be brave. They must be brave too.
