Born and raised in Toronto, Katharine is one of the world's best known climate scientists. She is Political Science Endowed Professor in Public Policy and Public Law at Texas Tech University and is Director of their Climate Center. She is most widely known as one of the most effective communicators of climate issues for the general public through her social media, media interviews and her Youtube videos with PBS Digital Studios. She hosts the PBS digital series, Global Weirding and in 2019 was named a United Nations Champion of the Earth.
